I am sitting in the computer lab of the STRIVE PROGRAM. It is in the heart of Skid Row. This program started in April of 2007. I did an earlier video of the computer lab and uploaded it on YouTube at the time. I did not know about Stickam. Now I am broadcasting live from the same lab. The lab, last April, started with 6 computers. The lab now has 20 computers. These students are homeless students. Many of them have battled drug addictions and they have put them down in order to grow in their lives. There are some very positive things about Skid Row that are taking place. This program is one of them. These men and women love learning. Most of them have never touched a computer before starting this program.
this is a landmark day. we are broadcasting from Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles. this neighborhood has the highest number of homeless people of any neighborhood in the United States. I am broadcasting from the Computer Lab of the STRIVE program. In my opinion, it is the best program on Skid Row. It recruits people from the homeless community in this neighborhood, houses them and puts them into a curriculum of life skills , restaurant management, computer technology, and business management I tried to broadcast this from you tube and other websites. I could not . However, at Stickam, I was able to do so. Stickam is about one mile from this location. I think stickam is awesome. I don't mind saying I want to do market research for them.
Stickam is changing the way things are done and they are a big part of empowering the people of Skid Row.
They do not even know it. Skidrowbroadcasting.com is our sister channel. We are using the Stickam Player on that website
