I didn't become vegetarian because I felt my health was a concern: I was vegetarian because it it UNFAIR for other beings to suffer for my palate.

However, not eating their flesh, and it is flesh, doesn't do much for their suffering. If you truly want to help, find a way to campaign for better slaughter methods that will minimize the animals' suffering, if you're up to it.
I try my best to avoid fur, leather, wool, or down products. I never liked the idea of dead skin covering my body, and fur is simply just cruel. I learned the same was true for wool and down thanks to PETA.

I really can't stand fur, leather, wool, or down. As much as I may love you, if you're wearing these products and I may come in contact with them as I hug you, I probably WON'T. I try my best to deal with the fact that leather is a common material used in pretty much everything, but I don't want to touch dead skin. It's GROSS. Wool, it's just the way it was obtained. Check on PETA's website to see which companies sell wool products that don't come from shearing.

I love Gir and Jack Skellington more than anything else.
