Hi all! I watched very closely the results from Tuesday's elections! As far as Maine's results I am like you upset! While in discussion with my friends i realized what the issues may be. Consider this: in the media when they show the march on DC or local pride events or any LGBT event what do they show? They show those gays that are on both sides of our fringe. They show the flamers and the leathers with bare asses! That scares the crap out of str8 America!! there are far more LGBTs in the middle by every day appearance that cant easily be labeled gay! Mind you most of those who flame and leather dress are not going to work that way! I do feel we as LGBT people should introduce are selves to str8 America so they can see not only that we are a large segment of society but also show that we are more like them in appearance and are more str8 acting then the extremes (flamer-leather). I have no ill will towards any of my gay-bi brothers and sisters! I fault media's focus, not those they aim there cameras. I ask you do consider this and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not do this with anger but do it with love and compassion! When those who appose us with ads that say we are all pedophiles, we are all trying to increase our numbers by making children gay its education that will change it its being seen and introduced to our neighbors that will be the difference! When we Introduce ourselves to our neighbors they loose what naive fears they have and truthfully how similar we really are! I do suggest outing yourselves if it remains safe for you! AND BTW if you are str8 and you have LGBT friends, neighbors and co-workers or if nothing less that you also agree we should have all of our rights, you to can do this with our thanks!! President Obama, Senators and members of Congress "We the People" as i recall includes all those of the LGBT community so DAM it were are the laws and legislation that truly say and treat us as equals? We put you in power and can remove you as well! Get vocal get involved get whats due us all! I use to be a big fellow of near 270lbs currently down to 165lbs & 6'4". I am self employed in the Computer industry as a Computer Coach who teaches the applications of the PC and I can speed the PC up doing minor repairs. I own a town home in Raleigh, NC. I am anything but a home body. You've heard of cabin fever well I get that within 10 minutes of waking up Id prefer to be some were outside or away from my home. I do like changed weather (Snow Thunderstorms etc)being out into it! I am a loyalist when it comes to my friends being very out going once I get to know you, kind of an introvert till I do.
