Well, just because she couldn't see, hear, or speak, doesn't mean her heart stopped. She's trying to say that even though she couldn't do the things that most people can do, that she can still feel as much as the next person. Yes, she couldn't see, or even hear things -but she did feel them in the heart. The quote she made is kinda like a thinking one.
